Shillong, Apr 27: People of Shillong paid tributes to the victims of terrorist attack at Pahalgam at a candlelight vigil organised by Shillong Citizen Forum (SCF) at Khyndailad on Sunday.
Terrorists killed 26 people, mostly tourists, at a scenic location in Pahalgam, one of the most favourite tourist destinations in Jammu and Kashmir, on 22 April.

The SCF held the vigil in front of the old Assembly building at Khyndail Lad to express solidarity with the families of victims of the one of the most heinous attacks in Kashmir’s history of violence.
The Forum has also called for a total shutdown of shops and business establishments across Greater Shillong on Monday to protest against the attack and honour the victims.
It urged citizens to participate peacefully and stand united against violence and terror.
Hundreds of residents across Shillong, cutting across communities and age groups, came together to light candles and offer prayers for the innocent lives lost in the attack.

Chants of “Justice for the Victims” in Khyndailad as emotional citizens stood shoulder to shoulder, condemning terrorism and calling for peace. Many carried placards bearing messages of hope, resilience and the need for stronger measures to ensure national security.
“We are gathered here not just to mourn, but to send a clear message that terrorism will never break our spirit,” said one of the organisers of the vigil.
