West Jaintia Hills leads with highest 96.83% EF distribution
Shillong, July 13: Nearly 80 per cent enumeration forms have been distributed under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls in Meghalaya.
According to the latest status report of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) released on Monday, the state has achieved 79.82% distribution of Enumeration Forms so far.
A total of 18,75,495 enumeration forms – Meghalaya has 23,49,645 electors – have been distributed by 3,551 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) across the state, the CEO stated.
Meanwhile, digitisation of the distributed forms currently stands at 4,66,918, which is 19.87% of the total EFs distributed.
West Jaintia Hills district has recorded the highest distribution at 96.83%, with 2,13,484 EFs distributed out of 2,20,478 electors.
It is followed by South West Garo Hills at 94.33% and North Garo Hills at 92.44%.Other districts performing above the state average include East Garo Hills at 84.68%, Ri-Bhoi at 84.31%, South Garo Hills at 82.42%, South West Khasi Hills at 82.21% and West Khasi Hills at 80.54%.
The bottom three districts in terms of EF distribution are East Jaintia Hills at 71.76%, West Garo Hills at 77.05%, and East Khasi Hills at 68.67%.
In East Khasi Hills, which has the highest electorate in the state at 6,32,146, a total of 4,34,096 EFs have been distributed so far.
In terms of digitisation, South West Khasi Hills leads with 35.03% of distributed EFs digitised, followed by East Jaintia Hills at 34.80% and Eastern West Khasi Hills at 31.28%.
The overall state digitisation rate stands at 19.87%.
As per the report, 4,74,150 EFs, or 20.18% of the total electors, are yet to be distributed. The average number of electors per BLO in the state is 662. The CEO office has been carrying out the SIR-2026 exercise under the Election Commission of India’s direction to ensure an updated and error-free electoral roll ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.
