Shillong, July 2: Over 63,000 enumeration forms have been distributed in the first three days of the enumeration phase of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in East Khasi Hills district.
As of July 2, 63,731 enumeration forms were distributed and 1,401 digitized in the district, District Election Officer (DEO) said in a statement on Thursday.
Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have fanned out to 898 polling parts since June 30 to distribute enumeration forms to households in all 15 Assembly constituencies of the district.
The exercise is scheduled to complete distribution and collection of filled forms by July 29.
Among the 15 constituencies in East Khasi Hills, Pynursla reported the largest number of forms issued so far, while Mawlai and Mawryngkneng also recorded high distribution figures.
In terms of digitisation, Mawphlang has taken an early lead, followed by Nongthymmai and Mawlai.
Officials said the house-to-house campaign is being closely monitored, with photographs of the enumeration process documented for reference. A dedicated District SIR Helpline has also been activated to address public queries.
“The District SIR Helpline received nine calls as of 2nd July 2026 and the issues were resolved,” the statement said.
The revision drive is being carried out under the Election Commission’s theme “Greater Participation for a Stronger Democracy.”
The DEO said the objective is to ensure accuracy in the electoral roll ahead of upcoming electoral exercises.
