State yet to get JJM funds for 2025-2026

Shillong, Sept 11: Public Health Engineering minister Marcuise N Marak has said that the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation is yet to release funds for the year 2025-2026.

Replying to a starred question tabled in the Assembly on Thursday, Marak said Meghalaya has received Rs 405.64 crore under the Jal Jeevan Mission during 2024-2025.

The minister said that the pending bills as on August 31, 2025 to be paid to all contractors for the works completed, yet to be received from the government of India amounts to Rs 695,01 crore.
