Korba, Sep 18: Three minor girls drowned while bathing in a pond in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district, police said on Friday.
The incident occurred in Nunera village, under the Pali police station area, on Thursday morning, an official said.
The girls, Indu Agariya (7), Rakhi and Sadhna, both aged eight years, had ventured into the pond for a bath, and when they failed to return home, their families rushed to the site and found their clothes and footwear on the bank, he said.
On searching the water body, they spotted Indu’s body, and the other girls were also subsequently fished out, the official said.
The police have registered an accidental death report and launched an investigation, he added. (PTI)
