Shillong, Nov 13: The East Khasi Hills Traffic Police has announced a two-day restriction on the movement of heavy and medium trucks into Shillong city ahead of the Cherry Blossom Festival from Friday.
According to SP Traffic (East Khasi Hills), K. Prasad, no heavy or medium commercial vehicles will be allowed to enter the city from Diengpasoh towards Shillong and from Upper Shillong towards Shillong city during this period. The restricted stretches will remain a complete no-entry zone for such vehicles.
The traffic advisory has been issued to ensure smooth flow of vehicles and enhance safety for festival attendees and residents.
