Trainees receive skill development certificates

Shillong, Dec 17: The Meghalaya State Skill Development Society has marked a milestone with a grand certificate distribution ceremony for 217 trainees who completed various skill development courses under the Skills Meghalaya Project and ISBSDP.

The event, held at MFC, Ampati, was attended by Mahendraganj MLA Sanjay A Sangma and South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Hema Nayak.

“80% of the target allocated for FY 2025-26 had been achieved through various skilling activities in the district by December 2025,” said Skill Development Officer Tesilchi Ch Sangma.

The MLA urged participants to utilize their skills and seek guidance from local leaders if needed. “I congratulate the certified trainees and encourage them to contribute to the state’s economic growth,” Sangma said.

Deputy Commissioner Hema Nayak appreciated the turnout and highlighted the uniqueness of MSSDS programs, which transform traditional skills into marketable assets.

“The District Administration has been conducting similar skill development programmes… enabling trainees to transform traditional skills into marketable assets,” she said.

Trainees shared their experiences, expressing gratitude for the skills acquired and opportunities opened up.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates, marking a significant milestone in the trainees’ journey towards a brighter future.
