Training on disaster preparedness at Chokpot

Shillong, Dec 7: The National Disaster Response Force in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority South Garo Hills organised a week-long familiarisation Exercise on Search & Rescue and First Aid for the affected villages in the recent natural disaster victims at Chokpot in South Garo Hills district.

Held at Chokpot C&RD Block campus, the programme aims at educating people on various emergency response techniques and disaster preparedness, stated an official release.

The goal of this familiarization exercise is to help people to be the first responders when emergency services are not available, it added.
