Tree plantation at Pine Mount School

Shillong, July 19: Rotary Club of Shillong Heritage organised a tree plantation drive on the campus of Pine Mount School, Shillong, on Saturday.

Community members, forest officials, educators, and students took part in the initiative held under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” national campaign.

A total of 76 saplings were planted during the drive, including species such as Ligustrum Soh Paiat, Camellia japonica, and Jacaranda mimosifolia, all chosen for their ecological and aesthetic value.

Divisional forest officer Ms H Lato, Pine Mount School principal B Nongbri, Rotary Club Shillong Heritage president Gayatri Marnie Batkhar, Club’s Environment Committee chairperson Dr Binayak Dutta, and 50 resident boarders of the school were among others who attended the programme.
