Held from July 10-12 at Whitewater Village in Umtham, Ri-Bhoi, the three-day camp brought together promising talents from across Meghalaya to hone their skills in canoeing, kayaking, and rafting. The event served as a crucial scouting ground for the upcoming National Games, with the goal of identifying athletes for advanced training.

The Tura contingent, selected from a prior TAC-organized camp, showcased remarkable discipline and enthusiasm despite limited prior experience. Their adaptability and grit paid off, as all seven athletes secured places in an intensive training program under world-class coaches, set to begin July 18 at Whitewater Village.

“This is a proud moment for Garo Hills,” said a TAC spokesperson. “Our athletes have shown incredible potential, putting our region on the national water sports map.”
