Two held near Indo-Bangla border

Shillong, Mar 20: Two Indian nationals were apprehended by the BSF while ferrying contraband items in an attempt to smuggle the consignment into Bangladesh, at Ichamati in East Khasi Hills district.

Troops of 110 Bn BSF intercepted a Tata Sumo vehicle carrying the contraband items at Ichamati T-Junction near the international border.

On their failure to provide any valid document for the consignment, they were apprehended and handed over along with the seized vehicle to the Customs office at Shella for further action.
