VP hosts luncheon for BRICS Forum delegates, calls for joint efforts to tackle global challenges

New Delhi, Oct 27: Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chair C P Radhakrishnan on Tuesday stressed the need for greater cooperation, mutual trust and joint efforts to tackle global challenges, while expressing hope that the 12th BRICS Parliamentary Forum will promote dialogue, encourage innovation and help build an inclusive and prosperous world.

He was speaking while hosting a luncheon for presiding officers and heads of delegations from BRICS member and partner countries at Samvidhan Sadan, the old Parliament building here, according to a social media post by his office.

Welcoming the dignitaries, Radhakrishnan highlighted India’s rich democratic traditions and the timeless wisdom of its civilisational heritage.

“Emphasising the spirit of BRICS, the Vice President called for greater cooperation, mutual trust and collective action to address shared global challenges, expressing confidence that the Forum would further strengthen dialogue, foster innovation and advance the shared vision of an inclusive and prosperous world,” the post read.

China will host the next BRICS Parliamentary Forum, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla announced earlier on Tuesday, as the two-day event concluded. (PTI)
