Work on Wansing Bazar to Dorrenge road soon

Shillong, Oct 11: The much awaited work on the road from Wansing Bazar to Dorrenge will start soon as the DPR for the project has already been prepared by the PWD, said chief minister Conrad Sangma while visiting parts of Tura on foot on Friday.

The 5.5-km road connecting the outskirts of Tura has been sanctioned with 5.56 crore.

“This road is very close to Tura and is important for the local people,” he said while interacting with local people after the inspection of the road.

Meanwhile, the villagers apprised the chief minister of abandonment of work on an additional building of Chisakgre Sub Centre and urged him to complete the construction work.

They also urged the chief minister to sanction a transformer and a market shed at Wansing Bazar.

The chief minister assured them of looking into their demands and sanction of funds for the market shed from Chief Minister’s Development Fund.
