Shillong, March 19: Storms, hail and lightning since 13 March have affected more than 48,000 people and damaged 13,876 houses across 30 blocks in the state.
Altogether 745 villages in all districts were impacted by the calamities, according to preliminary reports by the State Disaster Management Authority released on Wednesday.
As per the report compiled up to 17 March, one person was killed and another injured, while 66 infrastructure units and 0.4 hectares of crops were damaged.
No animal deaths or missing‑person cases were reported.
