Govt firm Shillong Medical College’s 2025-26 target

Shillong, Oct 14:The state government is on its course to institutionalise Shillong Medical College by 2025-26 and work on Tura Medical College in progress as well, said health minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Monday.

“We have already said we are targeting 2025-26. We are on track for that,” Lyngdoh told reporters.

She said clearance of the service rules, currently under process in personnel department, would pave way for setting up of the medical college.

An application for affiliation of Shillong Medical College submitted to the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) is also under process, she informed.

On the status of Tura Medical College, the minister said the construction work was going on in full swing.
