SP South West Garo Hills Clarifies FIR Filing Location in Impersonation Case

Ampati, Feb 28: In response to recent media reports regarding an impersonation case involving an individual posing as a doctor at Ampati Civil Hospital, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of South West Garo Hills, Vikash Kumar, has issued a clarification regarding the location of the FIR filing.

The case in question involves an FIR filed by social activist Greneth M. Sangma against one Hirak Sangma, who was allegedly deceiving individuals by falsely claiming to be a doctor and offering jobs at various Primary Health Centres (PHCs) across Garo Hills. Several media reports stated that the FIR was filed at Ampati Police Station. However, SP Vikash Kumar has clarified that, as per the original FIR document, the case, dated 26th February, 2025 was actually registered at Baghmara Police Station, South Garo Hills, and not Ampati Police Station.

Authorities urge media outlets to verify information before publishing reports to ensure accuracy in public discourse. Further investigations into the impersonation case are underway, and legal action will follow based on the findings.
