Massive turnout at RHAC rally signals NDA’s dominance: Dilip Saikia

Guwahati, March 24: A sea of supporters at an election rally in the Rabha Hasong region has reinforced the momentum of the NDA, with Assam BJP president and Lok Sabha MP Dilip Saikia declaring an “unstoppable wave” ahead of the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) elections.

Addressing the gathering, Saikia reaffirmed the BJP-led “double-engine government’s” commitment to the security and development of the Rabha Hasong region. He credited Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for prioritizing infrastructure growth and fostering communal harmony. He also lauded the leadership of Tankeswar Rabha, Chief Executive Member of the RHAC, stating that the region is witnessing a “new era of progress.”

The electrifying public response at the rally, according to Saikia, is a clear indicator that the NDA-backed candidates are poised for a landslide victory in the RHAC elections on April 2.

The BJP leader was speaking at a campaign event in 15 No. Agia constituency, where he extended his support to Suchitra Nath, the NDA-backed BJP nominee. The rally saw the presence of Dipanka Kumar Nath, president of BJP’s Goalpara District Unit, and Rakesh Das, president of Assam BJP Yuva Morcha.

In a significant boost for the party, several local leaders from various organizations, including the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), formally joined the BJP during the event. Saikia personally welcomed them into the party, further strengthening BJP’s grassroots presence in the region.

Following the Agia rally, Saikia continued his campaign blitz, addressing two more massive gatherings—one for NDA candidate Bhairav Chandra Kachari in 2 No. Kathakuthi constituency and another for Meghali Rabha in 22 No. Bandapara constituency. The Kathakuthi rally in Ambuk witnessed the participation of Moti Lal Baksa, president of the All Rabha Students’ Union, along with several key NDA leaders.

With just days left for the RHAC elections, the BJP appears to be riding on a wave of public support, setting the stage for a decisive NDA victory on April 2.
