NPP names office bearers of national committee

Shillong, Apr 19: The National People’s Party (NPP) in Meghalaya, with chief minister Conrad Sangma already elected as national president, has announced other office bearers of the party’s national committee for next three years.

Former cabinet minister James PK Sangma has been appointed as national working president, Gambegre legislator Dr Mehtab A Sangma as treasurer and former Tura MP Agatha K Sangma as national vice-president of NPP for 2025-28 tenure, according to a party notification issued by the national president.

The other three national vice-presidents are – SL Kol from Madhya Pradesh, Vevoyi Wideo from Nagaland, and Pesi Jilen, an MLA from Arunachal Pradesh.

Paknga Bage from Arunachal Pradesh has been appointed as national general secretary (organisation) and Abhaya Kashyap from New Delhi as national general secretary (law & admin).

The NPP also announced names of its four new national secretaries – Meghalaya cabinet minister Dr M Ampareen Lyngdoh, Arunachal Pradesh MLA Tapi Darang, Samuel Sumi from Nagaland and Saidul Khan from Meghalaya.

Thirteen executive members were also appointed in the NPP’s national committee.
