IIM Shillong to work on rural governance in Tripura

Shillong, May 4: IIM Shillong has signed an MoU with government of Tripura with an objective to empower rural governance and capacity-building in the state.

The agreement was signed between IIM Shillong’s Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy Research and Analysis and Rural Development (Panchayat) department of Tripura.

Dr Kalam Centre will design and deliver customized training modules, interactive workshops, and field-based learning programs to strengthen rural governance in the state, stated a press release.

The initiative will also build capacity in key areas such as financial management, community mobilization, leadership development, and monitoring and evaluation.

Tripura chief minister Manik Saha, IIM Shillong director (I/c) Prof Nalini Tripathy, and Tripura Rural Development secretary Abhishek Singh were among others present on the occasion.
