Red Shield commander drops in on Tripura combat camp, lauds troops’ grit and tech edge

Guwahati, June 21: Major General SS Kartikeya, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Red Shield Division, visited the Army Training Facility in Tripura to assess the combat preparedness and training standards of troops deployed in the region.

The GOC reviewed a series of high-intensity training modules, including Jungle Warfare, Firing Drills, Obstacle Navigation, Drone Operations, and Special Ops simulations. The facility, tailored to the region’s tough terrain, plays a crucial role in sharpening terrain-specific combat skills and integrating cutting-edge technologies into field operations.


Following the demonstrations, Maj Gen Kartikeya interacted with the troops, commending their physical endurance, mental resilience, and swift adaptability to evolving military tech. He praised their discipline and professionalism, encouraging them to maintain the momentum and strive for even higher standards.

The visit reaffirmed the Army’s strategic focus on operational readiness, skill upgradation, and motivation of personnel serving in the challenging conditions of India’s North-Eastern frontiers.
