Govt appoints 7-member panel to oversee land use change

Shillong, Aug 8: The state government has constituted a committee to approve the application on change in land use.

The seven-member committee will be headed by the Director of Urban Affairs as chairperson and district urban planner as member secretary.

Representative from forest & environment department, deputy commissioner (revenue), East Khasi Hills, Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), joint director, urban affairs, Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board (MSPCB), PWD will be members of the committee.

A notification issued by Commissioner & Secretary in-charge urban affairs Dr Vijay Kumar D on Thursday (August 7) said the committee will assess the feasibility of each proposal and shall meet regularly for timely examination and decision making of applications received.
