Man gets life term for 2010 murder

Shillong, Aug 14: The Court of District and Sessions Judge, West Jaintia Hills NA Khan has sentenced Patrick Dkhar to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 5000 for his involvement in a  2010 murder case.

Dhar has been convicted under Section 302 IPC for culpable homicide amounting to murder and sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs. 5,000.

In default of payment of the fine, the convict will undergo simple imprisonment for one month.

The case began with an FIR filed on May 9, 2010, by Bil Lamare, sister of the deceased, Rosingmon Lamare, alleging that her brother was murdered at Barato on May 8, 2010, by his brother-in-law, Interly Talang, and Patrick Dhar.

The case was registered as Jowai P.S. Case No. 72(5)2010 under Section 302/34 IPC and was investigated by SI W. Vaiche.

After thorough investigation and trial, the court found Dhar guilty of the crime and sentenced him to life imprisonment with a fine.
