Shillong, Oct 13: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has assured the SSA school teachers of implementing pay structure for over 14,000 SSA teachers in the state soon.
The chief minister informed that the process of taking over SSA schools and implementation of pay structure for SSA teachers is in its final stage, said Aristotle C Rymbai, president Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA) after meeting Sangma on Monday.

Terming the meeting as positive, MSSASA president said, “The chief minister informed the association about the paper works regarding the pending issues of SSA teachers pertaining to taking over of SSA schools.”
According to Rymbai, a follow-up meeting is scheduled for Thursday, where the chief minister, education minister Lahkmen Rymbui, and officials from the education department will further discuss the matters.
Over 3,332 SSA schools in Meghalaya have submitted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to hand over their management to the state government.
In total, there are 5,131 SSA schools in the state, including 298 religious and privately managed SSA schools.
