First batch of skill devp prog for NE youth flagged off

Shillong, Oct 19: The first batch of students from the state selected for a skill development programme in various trades under AYUSH was flagged off by Governor CH Vijayashankar.

With an aim to benefit thousands of underprivileged youth from the North Eastern states, the programme offers comprehensive training in AYUSH trades, along with modules on spoken English, personality development, and financial literacy.

Besides Meghalaya, the participants include from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

Supported by Zerodha under its CSR, this holistic approach empowers participants with essential life skills to succeed in the modern wellness industry.

The initiative aligns with the Skill India and Atmanirbhar Bharat missions, focusing on creating employment opportunities in India’s growing wellness and traditional medicine sectors.

The Governor’s presence at the flag-off ceremony served as a major motivation for the students embarking on their transformative journey.

The programme is expected to benefit a large number of underprivileged youth from the North Eastern states, providing them with skills and training in the AYUSH sector.

This initiative has the potential to make a significant impact on the lives of young people in the region, enabling them to pursue career opportunities in the growing wellness industry.
