Central Bank of India disburses ₹31 crore to Kamrup rural groups at Mirza camp

Loans sanctioned to 350 groups under national agri disbursement drive, focus on women and self-help groups

Mirza (Kamrup), Nov 14 : Central Bank of India held an all-India agri disbursement campaign, with its Barpeta Road Region conducting a special camp at Hotel Orchid Palace, Mirza, where loans totaling ₹31 crore were disbursed to 350 beneficiary groups from Kamrup (rural) to strengthen agricultural financing and rural livelihoods.

The event was attended by chief guest Smt. Rashmi Baruah Gogoi, ACS, Co-District Commissioner, Palashbari. Senior bank officials present included Anil Kumar, zonal head (Guwahati); Sudip Kumar, regional head (Barpeta Road Region); Anil Das, social worker and customer; and Mithlesh Kumar, chief manager, regional office, Barpeta Road.

The initiative prioritized women beneficiaries and self-help groups, and supported sustainable livelihood activities across the agricultural value chain. “We will continue our mission of serving farmers, entrepreneurs and rural households with timely credit and dedicated customer service,” the bank said in an official statement. “This campaign is aimed at promoting inclusive growth by expanding access to rural credit,” the Guwahati zonal office said in a release.

According to the bank, the drive underscores ongoing efforts to deepen financial inclusion in Assam by extending credit support, improving service delivery, and empowering community-based groups in the farm sector.
