EKH admin bans overloaded vehicles on Umngi river bridge

Shillong, Nov 19: The District Magistrate East Khasi Hills has promulgated an order prohibiting plying of vehicles carrying a load of 9.0 MT on Bridge No. 5/5 over Umngi River at Umpung on Balat-Bagli Road in East Khasi Hills.

This order is necessitated due to the weak condition of the said bridge to avoid further damage.

This order comes into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force till further orders.
