Rajabala murder accused nabbed from Tripura, 13 arrested

Tura, Feb 14: The ongoing police investigation into January’s murder incident at Goalgaon village of Rajabala, in which one ACHIK organization member lost his life, has led to the arrest of another accused who was hiding in distant Tripura state. Two other murder accused were also picked up from different parts of the region bringing the total of murder accused arrests to 13.

One of the main accused in the Goalgaon murder, identified as Mozidul Islam of Bhaitbari, Rajabala, had been in hiding in Agartala, Tripura state to avoid police attention.

On February 12 a special police team from West Garo Hills was dispatched to Agartala from where Islam was nabbed while hiding in a rented place. Today, he was brought back to Tura under police escort and produced before a court which remanded him to custody.

Likewise, on February 9th night a police raid was conducted at Bhaitbari leading to the arrest of another accused identified Gulbahar Sheikh, 45 yrs, was arrested from Bhaitbari.

Two days later, a second raid led to the arrest of Mominul Hoque, 40 yrs, who was picked up from Sidakandi village in Rajabala.
