Shillong, Feb 20: The East Khasi Hills district administration is taking proactive measures to prevent fire incidents in the region.
Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has directed all establishments to undergo comprehensive fire safety audits.
The directive applies to commercial establishments, educational institutions, hospitals, government offices, and assembly areas. Establishments are advised to apply for a Fire Clearance Certificate or Fire No Objection Certificate through the official online portal at investmeghalaya.gov.in or approach the Superintendent of Police (Fire & Emergency Services) for assistance.
“This initiative aims to minimize the risk of fire outbreaks and enhance overall public safety,” said the Deputy Commissioner & Chairperson, East Khasi Hills.
The DDMA urges all stakeholders to cooperate with authorities to ensure compliance with fire safety norms and safeguard life and property.
