Shillong, Feb 21: A drug peddler was arrested along with 22.14 grams of heroin by the Anti Narcotics Task Force in Shillong on Friday.
According to the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) SP Vikash Kumar, acting on credible information, a naka was laid on the Shillong Bypass Road near ISBT Shillong, leading to the interception of one Wanbor Kharpran in a Maruti 800 vehicle (ML-05-K-7414).
“Two plastic boxes containing suspected contraband (heroin) were recovered from his possession,” Kumar said in a statement.
The accused, along with the seized contraband and vehicle, has been handed over to Mawlai Police Station for further investigation.
The ANTF is examining possible inter-state links related to the case.
