Three killed in lightning strikes in Bihar’s Khagaria

Khagaria, Jun 11: Three persons, including a father-son duo, were killed after being struck by lightning in Bihar’s Khagaria district on Thursday morning, police said.

The incident occurred around 8 am at Kanhauli village under the Paura police station area in the district.

The deceased were identified as Vidyanand Yadav (55), Ashutosh Yadav (32), and Ashutosh’s 10-year-old son, Ankesh Kumar, all residents of Kanhauli village.

Confirming the deaths, Khagaria SP Rakesh Kumar said, “The bodies will be sent for post-mortem examination. Further legal proceedings are underway.

The victims were taking shelter in a hut beneath a tree near the Dukharan Baba religious site when lightning struck the area, officials said. (PTI)
