Shillong, Nov 1: Meghalaya ANTF personnel seized heroin worth around Rs 60 lakh and arrested two persons during an operation at Tikrikilla in West Garo Hills district on Saturday.
Two cars and three mobile phones were also seized along with 10 plastic soap boxes containing suspected heroin weighing 112.52 grams and worth around Rs 60 lakh in illicit markets, SP ANTF Vikash Kumar said.
The arrested persons have been identified as Shahadot Ali (31) and Rejaul Islam, both from Goalpara, Assam.
The duo is suspected to be part of a larger inter-state drug trafficking racket.
The joint operation against inter-state drug syndicate was launched by Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) and West Garo Hills police.
The ANTF has sought public support and said informers’ identity will be kept secret and suitable reward will be given.
