Officials to visit states co-hosting the Games
Shillong, June 29: The National Games is likely to be held in March next year and officials will begin visits to other northeastern states co-hosting the Games after the Behdienkhlam festival, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Wailadmiki Shylla said on Monday.
“It is time to visit the other northeastern states that will co-host with Meghalaya. With the Behdienkhlam festival approaching, we plan to make those visits after it concludes,” Shylla told reporters.
He also mentioned that the Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya during his recent visit to Meghalaya expressed satisfaction with the preparations for the National Games in the state.
“When the Union Minister visited last time, we discussed everything in detail,” Shylla said.
“From infrastructure to automation and venues, we covered all aspects. The Union Minister also said he was quite happy and confident about Meghalaya’s preparations.”
He said the next phase involves regional coordination.
On the schedule, Shylla clarified that a final date is pending.
“It is not confirmed yet, but the tentative timeline we finalized last time is March 2027,” he added.
