CM launches ‘Achievers of the Month’ to promote entrepreneurship

Shillong, June 30: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Tuesday launched the “Achievers of the Month” programme, a flagship initiative aimed at recognising outstanding individuals and promoting a culture of entrepreneurship across Meghalaya.

The initiative seeks to provide a platform for achievers from different sectors to share their success stories, inspire others and highlight the impact of government interventions in fostering innovation and enterprise.

Launching the programme, Sangma said the government’s role is to create an enabling environment through policies, infrastructure and support systems, while entrepreneurship remains the key driver of economic growth.

“Government creates the base, but it is entrepreneurship that makes the economy take off,” he said, adding, “Entrepreneurship is the bedrock of sustainable livelihood generation and economic progress.”

The chief minister said the initiative is intended to break sectoral silos by bringing inspiring stories of achievers to the forefront.

“We want to share your stories with the world. What may seem simple to you is truly inspiring for others,” he remarked.

Announcing that July will be dedicated to entrepreneurs, Sangma said the government will organise a series of engagements, storytelling sessions and social media campaigns to showcase entrepreneurial journeys across the state.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by entrepreneurs, saying, “Entrepreneurship is not easy, it comes with sleepless nights, uncertainty, and challenges. But it is passion and determination that define an entrepreneur.”

Encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs to persevere, he added, “Do not let anyone tell you that you cannot succeed. It is your responsibility to prove them wrong.”

Highlighting opportunities beyond traditional sectors, Sangma said entrepreneurship can thrive in sports, agriculture, music and other emerging fields. He cited government initiatives supporting farmers, artists and sportspersons, noting that each sector offers scope for enterprise and employment generation.

The chief minister also commended the role of PRIME in strengthening grassroots entrepreneurship, citing examples of individuals who have expanded businesses from modest beginnings to supplying markets in major cities.

The programme will feature achievers from sectors such as sports, agriculture, education and public service in the coming months, with the objective of building a statewide culture of inspiration and recognition.

During the event, the chief minister interacted with entrepreneurs, who shared suggestions on scaling up their ventures and sought continued government support to strengthen entrepreneurship in the state.

A total of 50 entrepreneurs from different parts of Meghalaya were honoured under the inaugural edition of the programme.

The Achiever of the Month was given to Andy Kupar Lyngdoh, Founder & CEO, ParadigmatiX Private Limited. ParadigmatiX Private Limited (pX) is a Shillong-based creative agency specializing in graphic design and presentation design for international clients. Founded by a team with deep experience serving global Fortune 500 companies, pX operates on an export-only model — 100% of revenue is earned in foreign currency.

Within one year of incorporation, the company has scaled from two founders to a team of eight and built a recurring client base across the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia, including Microsoft Corporation and several global pharmaceutical companies.
