Delhi CM inaugurates new day care block at Lajpat Nagar Colony Hospital

New Delhi, July 3: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday inaugurated a new day care block at the MCD’s Lajpat Nagar Colony Hospital here, with civic authorities saying the upgraded facility will strengthen residents’ access to specialist healthcare.

The hospital, built by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) in the 1950s, underwent redevelopment after the original structure developed severe cracks and persistent seepage over the years.

The newly-inaugurated block houses more than 20 specialist doctors and includes a physiotherapy centre, upgraded toilets and improved patient amenities.

Civic officials said nearly 100 nursing staff will serve at the facility, which also offers services in specialities, such as ophthalmology and orthopaedics.

Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi said the revamped hospital would improve healthcare services in the area.

“It is very good community hospital. More than 20 specialist doctors will be available here and facilities such as a new physiotherapy centre, improved toilets and modern equipment have been added. We will work together with the Delhi government to further strengthen healthcare services,” he said.

The Mayor said the hospital has also been equipped with an automated health screening machine that can instantly measure parameters such as blood pressure and blood sugar. (PTI)
