Nongstoin, Sept 30: A scuffle took place between police and VPP youth wing members at Nongstoin as the latter tried to force their entry into the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
The VPP youth wing members led by Nongstoin MDC Dr Juristman Iawphniaw alleged irregularities in the interview for staff nurses at MCH Hospital, Nongstoin.
They were carrying documents what they claimed was evidence of alleged corruption and a lack of transparency in the recruitment process.
While VPP youth wing members gathered outside, police personnel deployed at the entrance prevented anyone from entering the DC office.
The situation escalated when VPP members allegedly attempted to force open the gate and remove it, leading to a scuffle with the police.
The incident took place a day after the Nongstoin MDC barged into the DC’s office and disrupted the interview process.
