Applications opens for CM Scholarship 2026–27

Shillong, Oct 7: The Directorate of Higher and Technical Education (DHTE), Meghalaya, has invited fresh and renewal applications for the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme (CMSS) for the 2026–27 academic year.

The scheme is open to permanent residents of Meghalaya pursuing regular, full-time courses from Class XI to PhD level at recognised educational institutions within or outside the state.

Students can submit applications until November 6, 2026. Institutions will have time until December 4, 2026, to complete application verification and defect rectification.

Fresh applicants must upload their latest or previous year’s marksheet, bonafide certificate, recent passport-size photograph, bank passbook or cancelled cheque, and identity proof of the applicant or guardian.

For renewal applications, students must submit the previous year’s latest marksheet, bonafide certificate from their current or new institution and a recent passport-size photograph. A bank passbook or cancelled cheque is required only if previously submitted bank details are being changed.

Eligible students can apply online through the Meghalaya government’s scholarship portal, Meghalaya One.
