Shillong, Oct 28: Buoyed by the joining of three MLAs, Deputy Chief Minister and NPP state president Prestone Tynsong on Wednesday said the party would soon run the government on its own.
“I am sure very soon the NPP will run the government singlehandedly,” Tynsong said while welcoming the former UDP legislators — Paul Lyngdoh (West Shillong), Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar (Mawkyrwat) and Nujorki Sungoh (Mookaiaw) — to the NPP on Wednesday. Sungoh could not attend due to medical reasons.
“We created a record today with signatures of MLAs on the party form. This will go deep into the history of the NPP family,” Tynsong said.
Appreciating their leadership capabilities, he said, “Their joining will further strengthen the party in the entire state. We know these three personalities well, their capacity and brain, inside the House and outside.”
