Adelbert Nongrum serious, airlifted to Vellore

Shillong, May 24: North Shillong MLA Adelbert Nongrum was taken on an air ambulance to Vellore, Tamil Nadu for medical treatment following a serious illness.

The MLA has been unwell for nearly a month and was undergoing treatment at Dr H Gordon Robert Hospital in Shillong, according to sources.

With little improvement and deteriorating condition, doctors advised he be shifted to Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore.

Accordingly, his family arranged an air ambulance and flew him from Shillong Airport, Umroi on Saturday morning.
