Advantage Assam 2.0: Seven Nations, 350 Business Meetings, and a Game-Changing Summit

Guwahati, Feb 15: The lineup to Advantage Assam 2.0 is spectacular—seven partner countries, around 350 business meetings, top industrialists, diplomats, and investors—the event is set to dazzle with grandeur and unprecedented opportunities. The biggest investment and infrastructure summit in the Northeast will take place on February 25-26, 2025, at the Veterinary College Field, Khanapara, Guwahati.

Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today said this year’s summit is marked by unparalleled international participation, with seven partner countries—Bhutan, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and UAE—confirming their commitment. Additionally, six more nations have registered their participation, with confirmations awaited from 14 other countries. “This extensive global presence reaffirms Assam’s role as a key destination for cross-border investment and trade,” he said.

The event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24, 2025, at Sarusajai Stadium, where he will celebrate Assam’s vibrant heritage with Jhumoir Binondini, a grand cultural performance. The valedictory session will be graced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as chief guest.

The summit will host an extraordinary 349 business meetings, including B2B and B2G interactions, facilitating high-level discussions and deal-making. Top executives, policymakers, and industry leaders will converge to explore strategic collaborations, market expansion, and economic synergies. The summit will see participation from 4 key bilateral agencies and 3 multilateral agencies highlighting Assam’s growing economic potential and strengthening global ties.

A 2,91,895 sq. ft. temporary structure has been set up for the venue which is the largest ever created in the region, housing an Inaugural Hall (Brahmaputra) with a capacity of 2,200 attendees and four thematic halls—Barak, Kopili, Manas, and Dhansiri—symbolizing Assam’s great rivers. With an anticipated footfall of over 10,000 attendees, the event is expected to break records in terms of participation and engagement.

A massive 88,000 sq. ft. exhibition space will host over 150 industries and entrepreneurs, including Tata, HUL, IOCL, ONGC, Vedanta, and GAIL. The 10,000 sq. ft. Assam Pavilion will present ODOP (One District One Product) initiatives, GI-tagged specialities, and Assam’s booming industrial infrastructure.

The Government has launched the Assam Startup and Innovation Policy 2025 and Aerospace & Defence Manufacturing Policy 2025 ahead of the summit. These policies aim to boost entrepreneurship, attract high-tech investments, and position Assam as a hub for innovation and defence manufacturing, driving economic growth and job creation.

There will be discussions led by top Union Ministers on key economic growth sectors such as Act East Policy, Semiconductor Industry, Hydrocarbons, Transport, and Export Promotion.

This apart there will be 20 expert-led panels covering critical sectors such as tourism, renewable energy, electronics, aerospace, sustainable harvest, food processing, and logistics.
