APSC CCE results: Chiranjeev Phukan tops, women candidates dominate top 10

Guwahati, Dec 5: Chiranjeev Phukan has secured the top position in the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2023 conducted by the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC). The results, announced on Thursday, highlight remarkable achievements by women candidates, who constitute seven of the top ten rankers.

Chiranjeev Phukan, a First-Class B.Tech graduate from NIT Silchar, scored 872 marks to secure the top rank.

Anisha Buragohain, a Postgraduate from the London School of Economics and Political Science, emerged as the highest-ranked woman with 823 marks.

Himandri Jita Bora, a JRF scholar and Postgraduate from JNU, Delhi, secured the third rank. Mrigakhi Baruah, a Graduate and Postgraduate from Delhi University, placed fourth. Tutumani Kakati, from Muguria, Bajali, took the fifth position.

Other prominent toppers include Mridusmita Ray (Goalpara), Mary Kalita (Bongaigaon), Diksha Sarkar (Sribhumi), Nilam Garg (Lakhimpur), and Ankita Chettri (West Karbi Anglong).

APSC completed the examination process within a record time of eight months, starting from the preliminary exam in March 2024.

Over 67,251 candidates applied for this year’s examination, reflecting growing trust in APSC’s transparent and timely processes.

For the first time, posts were reserved for the Moran and Motak communities.

A total of 235 candidates were recommended for appointment in various services – 45 for Assam Civil Service (ACS), 35 for Assam Police Service (APS), 107 for Assam Accounts Service and other posts including Inspecting Auditor, Superintendent of Taxes, Block Development Officer, and more.

The results emphasize gender diversity and inclusivity, with women achieving remarkable success. Additionally, the introduction of reservations for Moran and Motak communities marks a progressive step towards equitable representation.
