Assam Governor felicitates USTM student 

Shillong, Jan 10: Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Wednesday felicitated a USTM student who will be representing Assam for the final round of the ‘My Bharat National Championship’ which will take place on January 11 and 12.

Alongbar Boro, a 4th semester MCA student from the Department of Computer Science, University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) along with Teihun Makri, another student of Botany who will be representing Meghalaya, are NSS volunteers at USTM and have qualified for the final round of the championship.

Speaking in this context, Dr Nibedita Paul, NSS Programme Coordinator of USTM said, “Mr. Boro and Miss Makri will have the opportunity to present their visionary ideas for a developed India in front of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. This platform not only highlights their individual excellence but also underscores the values and quality of education at USTM”.

The My Bharat National Championship is an event organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports aims to empower India’s youth by: promoting social mobility, reducing educational disparities, providing practical skills, and engaging youth to become leaders and active citizens and is a platform to showcase innovative ideas and visions for a developed India (Vikshit Bharat).
