Bryan Adams leaves Shillong fans enthralled, his voice still cuts like a knife

Shillong, Dec 11: Iconic Canadian rock star Bryan Adams gave his fans in Shillong a night to remember as he mesmerized a sold out crowd of several thousand music lovers at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Meghalaya’s capital on Tuesday night.

This was the first ever visit to the north east by the 65 year old Canadian star as he began his concert tour So Happy It Hurts.

Shillong was the second city of his tour after Kolkata gave him a rousing reception at the Aquatica grounds on Sunday night.

And it was indeed a night to remember for his fans who came from as far off as Arunachal and Nagaland, and neighbouring Assam.

For the thousands of his fans in the 40s and 50s age group who grew up listening to his songs- it was nostalgic when he belted out the hit 18 Till I Die.

But the younger generation, particularly Gen Z outnumbered the elders when it came to crowd numbers and choice of songs. For them it was the experience of a lifetime.

The crowds were on their feet, their mobiles out to take back a bit of history with them, when Bryan Adams struck the cords on his guitar to the iconic songs Please Forgive Me and Summer of 69- his voice still enthusiastic and brimming with youthfulness, even after more than four decades in the music scenario.

The combo of guitarist Keith Scott and Adams was awesome as their cords cut through the cold winter like a knife.

This superstar of the musical world told the crowds about the enthusiasm surrounding him and his band for the tour to India. And he proved it with his electrifying performance for his eager fans who have waited all through their lives to see him perform in person. And he didn’t disappoint. Afterall, he had promised and sung, Everything I Do, I Do It For You.
