Shillong, Aug 14: A dedicated Meghalaya Tourism Cab Booking App to be launched soon will enable tourists visiting the state book local taxis with much ease.
Tourism officials, technology partners, tourist taxi drivers and other stakeholders deliberated on introduction of the app at a programme at State Convention Centre here on Wednesday.
The initiative is expected to bring technology into Meghalaya’s tourist transport sector while making cab booking more convenient and organised for visitors.
For taxi operators, the platform could also provide a more structured interface for connecting with tourists and handling bookings.
XLayer Technologies, associated with the development of the platform, made a presentation on the app, including a demonstration video showcasing its proposed features and operational use.
The stakeholders to raised queries regarding implementation of the platform at a Q&A session.
The programme concluded with a workshop and training session for tourist taxi drivers and other stakeholders, focusing on how the app will be used in day-to-day operations.
