Cabinet nod to SOP for Taraghar

Shillong, Sep 30: A standard operating procedure (SOP) for running the Taraghar State Guest House, 2025 was approved by the state cabinet on Tuesday.

Mentioning that the Taraghar State Guest House was inaugurated recently, chief minister Conrad K Sangma said, “We have prepared the SOP on how will it be run, how the rooms will be allotted, to whom they will allot and overall aspects of how to run the guest house.”

The cabinet also approved Meghalaya Directorate and District Drivers’ Service Rules.

Explaining the significance of having proper service rules, the chief minister said Personnel department for the past several years has been a very aggressively working on to ensure that service rules are in place as they directly affect recruitment and promotion of employees.

The cabinet has also approved the holiday list of 2026. According to the CM, it is similar and in line with the holiday list of 2025.
