
Tura, May 3: The week-long Synergy 2025, which brought together education leaders, mentors, and hundreds of college students from across the region, came to a close at Don Bosco College, Tura on Saturday.
Speaking at the valedictory ceremony, education minister Rakkam A Sangma urged students to embrace a curriculum that’s not only rooted in academics but enriched by local culture and global relevance.

He highlighted that education should not only focus on academic knowledge but also foster global awareness and the ability to address societal challenges.
Hosted by assistant professor Jordana Dipera, the concluding ceremony witnessed vibrant cultural presentations by Group 7, who performed the traditional song “Dim Dim, Dim Chong, Dachi Chong,” and Group 6’s “Gogai Wai, Gosai Wai.”

In his address, Education department adviser Himalaya M Shangpliang shared his journey from modest beginnings to leadership roles in public service.
Don Bosco College principal Rev Fr Januarius Sangma emphasised on education as a means of enlightenment and community service. “Education is not just for jobs or money, but a path to enlightenment, character-building, and leadership,” he said.

In her welcome address, IQAC coordinator Dr Barbara S Sangma highlighted how Synergy 2025 gave students a platform to learn, lead, and grow through both academic and experiential activities.
Certificates were distributed to participants from six colleges, recognizing their active engagement and contribution.
Assistant professor Dr Mueller Buel M Sangma presented the action plan of Synergy 2025, which includes expanding the program’s reach, involving more institutions, and integrating collaborative efforts like NSS initiatives.
