CBI Arrests Dibrugarh GST Joint Commissioner in Bribery Case

Dibrugarh, Oct 25: Dibrugarh GST Joint Commissioner Rahul Kumar was arrested by the CBI on Thursday for allegedly accepting a Rs 60 lakh bribe while working in Mumbai.

Kumar was detained in Guwahati, where he was on special assignment from Dibrugarh. He is expected to appear before the Special CBI Court in Guwahati today.

The bribe, reportedly negotiated down from an initial Rs 80 lakh, was allegedly facilitated by a Chartered Accountant(CA) on behalf of a company. Previously, three GST inspectors and the CA were also arrested in Mumbai in connection with the case.
