Celestine appointed govt chief whip, Ronnie named deputy leader

Shillong, Sept 22: NPP legislator from Umsning Celestine Lyngdoh has been appointed as the government chief whip and NPP legislator from Mylliem Ronnie V Lyngdoh as deputy chief whip in the state Assembly.

This was informed by the Assembly’s commissioner & secretary Dr Andrew Simons in a notification issued on Monday.

Celestine Lyngdoh and Ronnie V Lyngdoh were among the four legislators who merged with the ruling National People’s Party (NPP), wiping out the opposition Congress from the Assembly.
