Tura, Aug 24: With no positive outcome emerging in resolving the crisis hit Garo Hills Autonomous District Council where hundreds of its employees are yet to receive their salaries for well over 42 months, Church leaders in Tura conducted a special service today.

The Tura based Church Leaders’ Forum organized a special prayer service at the District Auditorium in Tura where citizens, members of social organizations and employees of the district council participated.
Under the theme of “Good Governance and the Preservation of the GHADC” church leaders offered special prayers seeking divine intervention to bring about a solution to the crisis that has affected hundreds of families whose parents work in the council.

Catholic Church priest and Principal of Don Bosco College, Rev. Fr Janurius Sangma, along with other denomination heads led the gathering in offering prayers seeking governance and protecting the oldest political institution of Garo Hills.
