Shillong, April 17: BJP MLA Sanbor Shullai has thrown his full support behind the introduction of “CM Impact Guidebook” and called it a game changer which opened doors for countless socio-economically disadvantaged students who previously struggled to access quality coaching or private tuition.

In a press statement, the BJP MLA lauded Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on this initiative, which has resulted in the remarkable rise in this year’s overall pass percentage in SSLC exam.

According to Shullai, the guidebook has become a powerful tool, especially for students who are academically average or below average, helping them prepare more effectively and clear their board exams. “With such measures, the state literacy rate will increase and we may achieve a target of 100 percent literacy rate,” he remarked.

“For below average students even to pass exams is in itself a big achievement and those average students can apply for various Grade -D post in various State and Central government jobs and also in home police and central forces where minimum criteria is class 10 pass,” he added.

Shullai also slammed the critics who have downplayed the government’s efforts. “Education is not just for scholars or professionals. It is equally meaningful for those working in other sectors and this initiative has had a greater impact on deprived sections of society,” he said.

Beyond education, Shullai praised the MDA government under CM Conrad Sangma for its push toward development in other sectors, particularly tourism. “The government is not just talking the talk. It is delivering be it in education, infrastructure, or tourism. I appreciate the vision and commitment behind these efforts,” he said.
