Election to Hindu Samshan Bhoomi governing body in Tura

Tura, Oct 4: The West Garo Hills district administration has notified that, complaint with the order of the High Court of Meghalaya, a General Election to the posts of Governing Body of the Hindu Samshan Bhoomi Committee, Tura will be held on October 19 from 7 am to 4 pm in the designated Polling Stations below only for the registered Hindu voters of North Tura and South Tura Assembly constituencies residing within the administrative and territorial jurisdiction of Tura Municipal Board (TMB).

Therefore interested members of Hindu community forming a team of 8 (eight) members for the respective posts of office bearers as per Article IV (a) of the Constitution of the committee may file their nominations in plain papers along with two copies of passport size colour photographs each and a copy of Electors Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) to the office of the Returning Officer designate/ Additional Deputy Commissioner (EL), West Garo Hills, Tura on October 4 from 11 am up to 2 pm in his office chamber.

Further, it is also informed that there shall be no process of withdrawal of candidature hence, all nominations once submitted and found satisfactory by the Returning Officer shall be considered valid for candidature and a security deposit of Rupees two thousand only to be deposited against the receipt to be issued in favour of Hindu Shamshan Bhoomi Committee, Tura by the Returning Officer.

The designated polling stations are Tura Government College, Tura for male and female voters of North Tura A/C, marked as North Zone and the other station will be at PASM Police Public School Parade Ground Tura for male and female voters of South Tura A/C, marked as South Zone.
